Harold Clayton was one of my grandmother Florence's older brothers who fought in WW1.
These are some documents from his army record. He enlisted in January 1915 and was demobilsed in 1919.
It seems that Harold was injured in the war and went on to claim a war pension having what was classed as a 20% disability from his injury. My father (Harold's nephew) recalls that Haroild and possibly another Clayton brother, were treated in Birmingham hospitals long after the war was over.
The final document below is a receipt showing that Harold was sent the Victory medal in 1922.
